We seek performances primarily playing for senior groups and church groups,           
and prefer indoor venues.

•       SSBand rehearses at Westwood Lutheran Church, on S side of Cedar Lake Road,
                    (3 blocks East of Highway 169, 2 exits South of I-394)  in St. Louis Park.

•       SSBand’s regular season traditionally runs from April through October.
        The dates for the majority of performances and rehearsals for each season                
      are announced in advance of the first formal rehearsal each April.

•  Rehearsals are always on Tuesday mornings, beginning at 10:00A,
•  approximately twice a month but not on a set frequency schedule,                            
•  to prepare for performances, and occasionally "read" new music.
• optional "Winter Tuneup" rehearsal the first Tuesday of February,                       

•  Coffee-time precedes rehearsal, an opportunity to socialize.
  

•      SSBand members have individual music folders (available for $10,
or your own if it matches the folder we use) each with full set of parts,
individually distributed and maintained (not left with the band).

        Members provide their own ‘uniform’ (white tops, black bottoms),          
and often must provide our own personal music stands for use at concerts.

•    SSBand is totally dependent on donations to cover our expenses,
our primary expense being the purchase of music (no-one receives payment):
     Voluntary donations from our members (no fee to belong to the band).
     Donations made by the host when we perform.

    The “Synod” part of band's name is the result of being endorsed-only (no funding)  
by the Minneapolis Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (in) America,
which assists us with publicity and keeps our financial records.  
Checks may be written to the ‘Minneapolis Synod, ELCA’, 
are tax deductible, and go directly for the band’s use only.
